Swift Engineering is uniquely positioned in the marketplace to provide both Product Development and Manufacturing products and services, specializing in advanced composites, unmanned systems, robotics and associated technologies.
Swift Engineering is looking for a flight test intern position located in San Clemente, CA. The desired candidate would be working towards a degree in engineering and interested in unmanned vehicles or robotics. An intern with an attention to detail, an understanding of aerial flight systems capability to rapid prototype, and broad understanding of physics would be preferred. Member of the SAE Formula Team or the Design, Build, Fly team is a plus. An AMA pilot who has built and flies their own aircraft also a plus.
Each candidate will be required to spend a minimum of 20 hours/week at Swift Engineering
Desired skills and/or interests:
- Passion for multiple technologies and sitting on the cutting edge
- Interest in aviation and robotics
- Utilizes free time to work on DIY projects and open-source architectures
- Entrepreneurial individual
- Degree in-progress in Engineering field
- Rapid prototyping capability
- Member of SAE Formula or Design Build Fly team is a plus
- AMA pilot or Part 107 knowledge a plus

- Fundamental mathematics and physics
FLSA Status: Non – Exempt (Hourly)
Reports to: Flight Test Lead Engineer
Primarily in an office environment, and shop environment. Periodic weekend or evening work is expected. Travel is not expected but may arise.
